About La Mie

Before the sun rises, the bakers are already hard at work mixing doughs, forming breads, and sliding pastries in and out of the ovens. The sounds and smells take over as the over timers chime, the coffee starts brewing, and the music begins playing. The momentum of the day begins. Established in 2003, La Mie is a favorite Des Moines neighborhood bakery and café.

Owners Joe and Christina Logsdon have set out to create an atmosphere as vital and energetic as our customers. As La Mie has grown (sometimes painstakingly) so has our clientele. What started as a simple linear space has expanded into a vibrant, modern gathering place for friends, families, business associates and students.
